Power of Attorney

A Power Of Attorney is a legal contract between two or more individuals in which one party (principal) gives the other party (agent) authority to make decisions (medical, financial, etc.) on his/her behalf. The Power of Attorney document describes and limits the type of decisions that may be made, and terminates upon the death or incapacity of the principal, unless the power is "durable".  Arizona statutes have created severe civil and criminal penalties against individuals who use a Power of Attorney granted by a person who was or is vulnerable, in a way which does not place the interests of the vulnerable person ahead of all other persons.
